Dutch, by Another Name

Behold, the cover of the Dutch edition of Winterbirth, which I'm liking. The bilingual amongst you (which in the UK would be precious few, in Holland - as far as I can tell - pretty much everybody), will notice that it's not actually called Winterbirth. A name change was recommended for the Dutch market, which was fine by me. As a result, it turns out that I've written a book called (in that one corner of the world) Swords of Honour. Last I heard, it's published next month.

Yes, it says Godless World book 1, Swords of honour as the title, and then "it is a world of ice, it is a world of blood. It is a world abandoned by the Gods."

Thanks, Armand. For some reason, I think 'De Godenloze Wereld' just looks and sounds really cool - somehow has a suitably dramatic shape on both the eye and the ear. Almost seems better in Dutch than 'The Godless World' does in English ...

I once managed to meet possibly the only person in the whole Netherlands who didn't speak any other language. She clearly wanted directions somewhere but we didn't speak Dutch, we tried English, French and German and nope. Maybe her school was based on the British model. Oh wait, no, can't have been or she's simply have shouted louder in her own language to be understood :-)
